Our walk one year ago today. Let us never forget ! Army National Guard SGT Kayelyn Diane Garrett, Age 21 of Livingston, TN. Died May 1, 2025 She was one in zillion she loved her family and military family. She bled red, white and blue. She was an amazing daughter, sister and aunt she was the younger sister to 2 older brother and a big sister and protector to 2 younger sisters. She was taken from us in an auto accident. She served her country proudly for 5 years! She started her junior year of high school she went and done basic her summer before jr year, AIT summer of her senior year. She was a supply specialist she always wanted to serve her country proudly and that she did. Her unit was in Sparta tn 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment She loved collecting challenge coins, loved spending time with family, loved spending her time on the lake (her tubing time and wakeboard time with her sister was her favorite! Loved showing up her big brothers anytime she could! They liked out doing one another) loved music. She just loved living life and was taken way too soon from us! It was a great honor to walk 5.59 miles with Army National Guard SGT Kayelyn Diane Garrett. Their was 18 of us walking today. It was an honor to meet Kayelyn’s family and some that served with her. We headed down Sparta Hwy and headed towards town on West Ave. We made a stop at the Veterans Memorial Park and then we continued till we got to the Bakery and then we headed back towards the house. This was the biggest group that I have ever walked with. It was such an honor to meet her family. Having her family walking with us meant so much. It puts a different perspective on it. The love that they had for her, you could feel and hear it while we were walking. I want to thank everyone that Honked, Waved, and Saluted in helping us honor this hero today. The community showed up today with the honks. We had 495 honks. It was amazing. Thank you. I also want to thank SGT Adam Laporte for helping us honor this hero today. Army National Guard SGT Kayelyn Diane Garrett will not be forgotten !
