About
Social media built around people, places and purpose
GatherBump is a place to keep up with the people you care about, follow the businesses and creators you love, find your community, and buy and sell close to home. It is built to feel like a neighborhood, not a billboard.
Why GatherBump exists
GatherBump was founded by Jake Sansing. After leaving the Army, Jake became homeless and decided to walk across America: alone, unsupported, and with little to no money. Over the next 14 years he walked through every state in the country and wrote two books about it, Walking America: A 10,000 Mile Journey of Self-Healing and Walking America 2: The Journey Continues.
Those years on the road were shaped by people: strangers who offered a meal, small towns that made room, communities that showed up for each other. Jake later taught himself to code and built GatherBump to give those kinds of connections a home online, where people, places and causes come first.
What you can do on GatherBump
- Personal profiles and friends. Share updates, photos and videos with friends, and choose whether your profile is public or for members only.
- Hubs. Public pages for businesses, creators, organizations, clubs and public figures. Members follow the Hubs they like, and individual creators can receive voluntary tips through Cash App, with GatherBump taking 0%.

How we keep it safe
- GatherBump is for adults 18 and older.
- Everything on GatherBump follows our Community Guidelines, which do not allow nudity, harassment, hate, scams or illegal activity.
- Photos and videos are checked automatically when they are uploaded, and reports are reviewed by a person. We aim to review reports within 24 hours.
- Any member can report content or block another member. Blocking works both ways: neither person sees the other's posts or can message them.
How GatherBump is supported
GatherBump is free to use. It is supported by clearly labeled advertising and by optional Priority posts, which give a post extra placement in the feed for 24 hours.
