The GatherBump app has been submitted to Google Play for review. After I successfully get the app on Google Play, I will then start the process for Apple Store ✌️

I became homeless after I got out of the Army, so I decided to walk across America. Alone, unsupported, and with little to no money, I spent the next 14 years walking all over the country. After walking through every state in the US, I wrote two books books about my experiences - Walking America: A 10,000 Mile Journey of Self-Healing and Walking America 2: The Journey Continues. I later taught myself how to code and created GatherBump. - Jake Sansing

I made a few updates today to help GatherBump grow. The next time current members login, they will see the invite prompt. For new members, they will see the invite prompt the second time they login. If hub owners share their hub and someone signs up from that link, they will automatically follow that hub. If a group owner shares their group, and someone signs up using their link, the new member will land on that group's sign up screen. ✌️

In case you didn't know, you can change the accent color of your buttons in the setting menu ✌️

GatherBump is now a registered business. One step closer to having the official app ✌️

I've made a lot of updates today. Mostly stuff under the hood.. However, one thing that may interest you is that I've added a market place. You can find it in your hubs tab ✌️

Updates today: Some iPhone users were experiencing problems with uploading videos. I won't go into the nerdy stuff explaining why and what I did to fix it, but iPhone users should now be able to post videos 👍 Please let me know if you experience any issues.

I've made several new updates to GatherBump. You can now post up to five pictures at once and up to two minutes for videos. I have also created our very own built-in video editor. It allows you to trim the beginning and end of your video to get rid of unnecessary space, select your video preview image and add text to it, add music, and adjust the volume of your video and music independently. Also, I designed a built-in auto ducking feature, so the music will automatically get quieter whenever you are speaking. I also made it so you can see the length of videos in the bottom right section. That way, you'll know what to expect before ever clicking the play button. As always, let me know if you have any issues. Getting much closer to building the app ✌️

Just a little update.. I am still working on the built-in video editor. It's almost finished. Got my computer sounding like a spaceship preparing for takeoff, but I'm getting there 🚀 Hopefully it will be done by the end of the night!

Currently adding a built-in video editor for GatherBump. You'll be able to add music, trim the video, select what part of the music you want, and edit the preview all in one place. After this, I'll be ready to move on to the app, which will have its own unique filters for the built-in camera✌️

Has anyone created a priority post yet? Did the lightning bolt pop up next to your picture? Did you notice your post staying near the top of the feed?

I spent today making GatherBump smoother to use. 🙌 The Back button should now take you where you expect, including when you open pictures, albums, profiles, and conversations. I also fixed the delay when reacting to posts—reactions should now show up much faster. Behind the scenes, I improved how GatherBump handles backups and scheduled cleanup, and updated the Privacy Policy to better reflect how the site works today. I tested these changes, but if you notice something acting strange, please let me know. I’m building GatherBump with you, and your feedback helps me make it better. Another step closer to being ready for Google Play and Apple Store 💛 — Jake

Made lots of changes today in preparation of the GatherBump app. Some obvious layout changes, which you will notice by looking at your profile, other people's profiles, your own hubs, and other people's hubs. Your album is no longer hidden in your settings and other people can click your album to see what you've saved there. You can now add pictures in comments. There is now a dark mode in your settings. Hubs no longer recommend other hubs. They now follow hubs, just like normal profiles. For eligible hubs that can receive tips, I have switched from Stripe to CashApp, so you'll now be able to claim 100% of your tips. ✌️

I have implemented several new changes to GatherBump. See if you can spot the differences and let me know what you think! More importantly, let me know if you notice any bugs. I've ran several tests but there's always the possibility that I missed a route where a bug could appear. How are you feeling about GatherBump so far? A little feedback can go a long way ♥️

Heads up! New changes coming to GatherBump! As of right now, with the exception of Hubs, GatherBump is hidden behind a sign up / sign in screen. The upcoming changes will create a new sign up / login screen that allows visitors to view anything that is public. Your member profiles and posts will automatically be set to members only view. There will be a switch added to your settings (located in the top right of your profile) that will give you the option to set your profile and posts to public. Doing this will help visitors see that there active members and potentionally encourage them to join, although it is entirely up to you. However, visitors will not be able to engage with anything on GatherBump without becoming a member. The entire site will be view-only unless they sign up, so you won't have to worry about unathorized comments, reactions, or messages from visitors. The new sign up / login screen will land on my founder page with an area to sign up / login within my header. As they scroll down, visitors will see the public feed. This is currently in development and may be implemented as soon as today.

A few GatherBump updates are live! 👋 • You can now remove a profile, Hub, or Group picture if you selected the wrong one. • On your own Hub, the tabs are now labeled Posts and Hubs so it’s clearer where to find your posts and other Hubs. • Tapping a Hub follow notification in your bell now opens the person’s profile. • We’ve improved Remember Me, staying signed in across devices, and the phone’s Back button when reopening GatherBump. If anything still isn’t working as expected, you can reach me through Support on my profile. Thanks for helping me make GatherBump better!

🚀 NEW: Invite Friends & Earn a Free Priority Pass GatherBump is still growing, and the people who are here early have a chance to help shape what this community becomes. You can now go to Friends → Invite Friends and get your own personal invite link. Share it through text, Facebook, Messenger, or wherever you want. Every time 20 new verified members join GatherBump through your invite link, you’ll earn 1 FREE 24-hour Priority Pass for one of your posts. Your Invite Friends page will keep track of your progress automatically. 20 new members = 1 free Priority Pass 40 = another one 60 = another one Social media doesn’t build itself. 😄 If you like what we’re creating here, invite the people you’d actually like to see on GatherBump. Go to Friends → Invite Friends to get started. Let’s build this thing together. 🧡

Quick GatherBump tip, because I’m seeing some confusion about where Tips go 😄 Your personal profile is where you connect with people as yourself. A Hub is more like a Facebook Page: it’s the place for your content, business, or creator presence. People can follow your Hub, and posts you make from it can appear in the main Feed. Tips are for eligible Hubs, not personal profiles. So if you’re hoping to earn money from the content you create on GatherBump, you’ll want to create a Hub. Once your Hub meets the Tips requirements and you finish setting up payments, people will be able to tip you there. You can still use your personal profile normally. Think of the Hub as the home for the work you want people to follow and support. 🧡 Requirements to get Tips enabled on a GatherBump Hub: An eligible creator category: Content Creator, Comedian, Musician/Band, Author, Artist, Photographer, or Podcaster Have a profile picture Have a cover photo Filled out your bio 100 followers 10 original Hub posts Completed Stripe setup

More GatherBump updates are live! 🎉 🔔 When you follow a Hub, its new posts will now appear in your notification bell. These updates won’t ping your phone or browser. 🔎 Groups now have a Discover tab, making it easier to find communities to join. I also cleaned up the Hubs section so Created, Discover, and Following are easier to find. 📸 If your profile, Hub, or Group needs a photo, you’ll now see a reminder to add one. 💛 Hub owners with Tips enabled can now see their received Tips, including who sent them and when, with views for the past 30 days and all time. Keep letting me know what’s working and what could be better. I’m building GatherBump with your feedback in mind!

Today, I added a couple of new features to GatherBump! You can now react to posts with a Bump, Wow, Heart, Laugh, Sad, or Angry reaction. Tap the little arrow to choose a reaction and see how many of each a post has received. If you change your mind, tap your reaction to remove it. I also made signup clearer for new members. After setting up a personal profile, they can learn what Hubs and Groups are, create one, or skip that step for now. Give the new reactions a try and let me know what you think! 😄
Jake Sansing
A quick GatherBump tip: The Feed updates as new posts come in. If you enjoy someone’s post, visit their profile to add them as a friend, or visit their Hub to follow it. You can find them again in your Friends and Hubs tabs. When a friend or a Hub you follow has posted something new since your last visit, you’ll see a “New posts” label so you know there’s something to check out. Want to give one of your own posts more visibility? Tap the lightning bolt to see the Priority option. For $5, your post gets Priority placement in the Feed for 24 hours.✌️
