GatherBump Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

GatherBump is operated by GatherBump LLC, an Indiana limited liability company. In this policy, “GatherBump,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to GatherBump LLC. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and retain information when you visit GatherBump.com, use an account, or contact us about our services.

Your visibility settings and the features you use affect who can see your information. This policy also explains your choices and how to contact us about privacy or account deletion. Your use of GatherBump is also governed by our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Information we collect

Account and profile information. We collect your email address, authentication information, display name, profile picture, biography, and account preferences. We also store additional profile details you choose to provide, such as location, interests, relationship status, and cover images, along with profile identifiers and relevant account or name-change history. When you confirm that you are 18 or older and accept our Terms, we record that confirmation with the date and the version of the Terms you accepted.

Content and activity. We store posts, comments, replies, reactions, shares, photos, videos, saved album selections, and personal or Hub messages. We also record activity needed for features such as friendships, follows, blocks, Group membership and applications, referrals, notifications, and unread-content indicators. This can include which profile you visited and when, linked to your account.

Support and safety information. We collect information you send in support requests, reports, moderation appeals, or other communications. Safety records may include reported or rejected content, moderation results, review decisions, warnings, and account restrictions.

Advertiser and creator information. If you request advertising, we collect the business and contact details, artwork, destination links, campaign preferences, correspondence, quotes, and acceptance or payment records you provide. Creator features may involve eligibility records, certifications, a Cash App handle, and changes to payout-link settings.

Technical information. Our systems and service providers process information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, request times, service logs, and identifiers used for authentication, security, and traffic measurement. If you enable push notifications, we store your browser’s push subscription details and delivery records. If you use a GatherBump mobile app, we and our providers also process device information such as the device type, operating system, app version, and, if you allow notifications, the push token that lets us send notifications to your device.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, display content, deliver feeds and community features, provide messaging and notifications, remember preferences, and respond to requests. We also use it to administer advertising and purchased features, confirm transactions, measure traffic, maintain and improve the service, investigate abuse, enforce platform rules, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.

Account-linked activity supports features such as unread-post counts and notifications. The separate visitor-metrics system described below measures browser visits without linking its records to your account.

Who can see your content

Personal profiles and posts. The Members only setting limits browsing of your personal profile and posts to signed-in members, subject to applicable access restrictions. Choosing Public allows people who are not signed in, including search engines, to view your public profile and personal posts, including older posts. New accounts start as Public unless you choose Members only while setting up your profile, and you can change this setting at any time in Settings. Changing a setting does not remove copies already made by others or immediately remove search-engine caches.

Albums and profile images. Other signed-in members who can see your profile can view your album, whether your profile is set to Members only or Public. Your album is never shown to people who are not signed in. Profile and cover images can be served through public image links; someone with such a link may be able to view the image even when the surrounding profile is not publicly browsable.

Hubs and Groups. Public Hub information and public Hub posts can be viewed without an account. Group names, descriptions, and profile images can also be publicly visible. Group posts require sign-in to view; joining and participation depend on the Group’s rules. Group owners and authorized managers may receive membership requests and answers to joining questions.

Market listings. Market listings, including their photos, title, price, description, city and state, are visible to signed-in members together with your name and profile picture as the seller, except to members you have blocked or who have blocked you. Listings you mark as sold, listings hidden because they were not confirmed as still available, and listings removed by GatherBump are visible only to you and GatherBump. When a member contacts you about a listing, we record that contact so the two of you can message each other.

Interactions and copies. Your identity and interactions may be visible to others who can access the relevant content. Other people can copy, screenshot, download, or share information they can see. Blocking someone does not retract those copies or prevent access to publicly available material outside the blocked account.

Messages and notifications

Personal messages are intended for the participants, and Hub messages are available to the relevant Hub account operators. They are not displayed as public posts. Messages are stored on our service and are not end-to-end encrypted. We may access or review communications when reasonably necessary to operate messaging, address support requests or reports, investigate abuse or security issues, comply with law, or protect people and the service.

Push notifications are delivered through your browser or device provider. Depending on your device settings, notification content may appear on your lock screen or be visible to someone using your device. You can control notifications through GatherBump settings and your browser or device permissions.

Content moderation

GatherBump uses automated checks and human review to enforce its content rules. Images submitted through screened upload features, including sampled frames from videos, may be sent to OpenAI for safety analysis. We may retain the content, moderation results, and related account information to review decisions, handle appeals, and investigate repeated violations.

Written posts and messages are not submitted as text to the AI image-screening service. Text visible within an image or video frame may be analyzed as part of that image. Personal direct-message images are excluded from that automated image-screening flow. These limits do not prevent link-safety checks, reports, or authorized human review.

Visitor metrics and browser storage

GatherBump stores a randomly generated browser identifier and a last-counted date in local browser storage to estimate visitor totals. Our visitor records contain the random identifier and the first and most recent visit dates. We also store aggregate daily counts. These metrics do not record your posts or messages and are not linked to your GatherBump account.

The browser identifier has no automatic expiry set by GatherBump. Clearing local storage removes it from that browser, and a later visit may create a new identifier; clearing storage does not itself delete earlier server records. We retain visitor records and daily totals to calculate historical traffic statistics and may share aggregate totals with prospective advertisers or business partners.

This visitor tracker skips recording when browser storage is unavailable or when it receives a supported Do Not Track signal set to “1.” This behavior applies to our visitor tracker, not necessarily to every provider or technology used by the site.

To limit automated requests, the metrics system derives a daily keyed hash from a network address. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the visitor-metrics tables. Expired throttle records are removed during later tracking activity. Hosting, security, and other operational systems may separately process or retain IP addresses.

We also use browser storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and provide features. Some session information lasts for the browser session; other information can persist, including when you choose Remember me. Blocking or clearing storage may sign you out or affect features.

Advertising and Google AdSense

As of the date of this policy, GatherBump’s Google AdSense application is under review and AdSense ads are not active. GatherBump may offer advertising directly and may activate third-party advertising after approval and the required setup. Advertiser inquiries and campaign submissions are handled as described in this policy.

If Google ads are activated, Google and other participating vendors may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve ads based on visits to GatherBump or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize ads using those visits. Ad services may also process IP addresses, browser information, and ad interactions. Applicable consent and advertising choices will depend on your location and the services enabled.

If GatherBump mobile apps show ads, they may use Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device’s advertising identifier, device information, and ad interactions to show and measure ads. On Apple devices, we will ask your permission before using information for tracking, as Apple requires, and you can change that choice in your device settings. Where the law requires it, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we will ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown.

You can manage Google’s personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and read about Google’s advertising technologies. Choices for participating advertising companies are also available through YourAdChoices. These controls apply to the relevant providers and may not stop all advertising.

We do not sell personal information for monetary payment. Privacy laws can define a “sale” or “sharing” more broadly, including certain disclosures for targeted advertising. Before enabling advertising practices that change how information is used or shared, we will update the relevant disclosures and provide choices or obtain consent as required by applicable law.

Payments and external services

Square handles checkout for Priority posts and advertising campaigns. Payment providers collect the payment and billing details needed to process transactions under their own terms and privacy policies. GatherBump receives records such as transaction identifiers, amounts, status, and refund information to administer purchases and maintain business records. Full payment-card details are entered with the payment provider rather than stored by GatherBump’s checkout system. If you buy something inside a GatherBump mobile app, Apple or Google may process the payment instead, and we receive only the transaction records needed to provide what you bought.

Creator Direct Tips open an external Cash App link. GatherBump does not process the tip, receive a percentage, or track whether that payment succeeds. We do store creator eligibility, certification, approved Cash App handles, and related audit records. Records of payments made through features GatherBump no longer offers, such as earlier card-paid Tips, are kept under the retention practices below.

GatherBump may import or display content from the Jake Walks America Facebook Page using a Page integration. Facebook is not used to sign in to ordinary GatherBump accounts. Links or sharing options that take you to Facebook, Cash App, advertisers, or other external sites are subject to those services’ privacy practices.

How we share information

In addition to the visibility and features described above, we disclose information to providers that help operate GatherBump. These include Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication, databases and file storage, Bunny for video delivery, OpenAI for the image-safety checks described above, and payment providers when you use the relevant payment feature. Email, browser-push, network, security, and backup providers may also process information to deliver their services.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce agreements, or protect rights, property, and safety. Information may also be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of the business or its assets, subject to applicable law. We may share information at your direction or with your consent.

Providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Any safeguards required for the applicable transfer must be followed.

Retention and account deletion

We retain information for the purposes described in this policy. The period depends on the type of information, whether your account or content remains active, the service being provided, and any legal, payment, security, or dispute-related need. Different records and providers may have different retention periods; there is no single deletion deadline for all information.

You can request account deletion through Settings, then Edit Profile, then Delete Account. The self-service process asks you to confirm your email address and password. You can also contact contact@gatherbump.com for deletion assistance or other privacy requests.

Successful account deletion removes the account and associated profile, owned Hubs or Groups, and content covered by the deletion process. Hubs or Groups you merely joined or helped manage are not deleted just because your account is deleted. Removal of stored uploads and provider-hosted media may take additional processing time.

Some records may remain where reasonably necessary, including transaction records, creator certifications and audit history, reports, moderation evidence, and records needed to prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or meet legal requirements. Certain payment or safety records may require us to review a deletion request manually; if self-service deletion directs you to support, contact us so we can address the request and any applicable exceptions.

Backups and cached copies may persist beyond removal from the active service. We also cannot directly delete copies other people have saved or content independently held by external services. Messages and attachments should not be treated as permanent storage; they may be removed through account deletion or service maintenance.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can edit available profile information, adjust profile visibility and messaging preferences, manage notifications, and use available content-deletion controls. Browser settings let you manage cookies and local storage. Advertising controls are described above.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising. You may also have a right to appeal a decision or complain to a relevant privacy regulator.

Send requests to contact@gatherbump.com and describe what you would like us to do. We may need to verify your identity and, where relevant, an authorized representative’s authority before disclosing or changing account information. We will address applicable requests within the time required by law. If we decline a request, you may reply to ask for review or appeal where available. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

Age requirement and children

GatherBump is only for adults 18 and older. People under 18 may not create an account or use member features, and members confirm their age when they join. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the information, subject to applicable legal requirements. A parent or guardian who believes someone under 18 has provided information should contact contact@gatherbump.com. Our Child Safety Standards explain how we prevent and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Security and policy updates

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authentication and access controls. No online service or method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy as GatherBump’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted with a new Last updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
